Sony announces Android 3.0 Honeycomb Playstation Certified tablets [Video]

Sony has unveiled two new Android tablets that will run Android 3.0 Honeycomb and are the first Playstation Certified devices to be announced since the arrival of the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY. Whilst this news isn’t Xperia related, it’s good to know that Sony is committed to the Playstation Suite, which should be good news for the Xperia PLAY going forward. The first tablet, codenamed S1, has a 9.4-inch (1280 x 800) display. It will come with Wi-Fi and 3G/4G network compatibility. The second tablet, codenamed S2, has a dual 5.5-inch (1024 x 480) display with a clamshell design (much like a Nintendo DS). Not much else in terms of specs or price has been disclosed at this point. Both tablets will be available by the end of 2011.
